Sweet Kitty Layout *** Lindys Stamp Gang***

I created this layout using the October 2014 Limited Edition Mega SetI started with  a 12x12 piece of cardboard and a 12x12 piece of Kraft Cardstock mounted over it. It is amazing how the sprays and embossing powders shimmer and shine on Kraft paper. Once I distressed the edges of the page to my liking, I sprayed the whole page with Black Orchid Silver Starburst Spray concentrating it on the edges, then went over it with Royal Peacock Fire.
I must give a huge shout out to my dear friend Pascale Bernard for sending me the dies for the leaves I used in this layout  all the way from France!!! I loved these elements in her work so much that she inspired me to WANT them badly!! So Thank You Pascale!!! Merci mon ami!!! xoxo

The die cut frame was sprayed with Black Orchid Silver Starburst Spray and then heat embossed using Midnight Pewter. I placed some blue rhinestones on it for some sparkle. The color of the rhinestones matches the shimmer of the Royal Peacock Fire Starburst spray perfectly.

The flowers and leaves were all die cut from Kraft paper.  The flowers were sprayed with Kissin Kinickie Coral and Bodacious Blush, then finished with Clam Bake Beige. I  rubbed them with embossing ink, sprinkled on Hibiscus Rose Embossing powder and heat embossed them . The leaves were sprayed with My Mojito Green Starburst Spray which was included in the 2014 July Color Challenge set.

I die cut the flowers and the centers were hand rolled cut spirals. Once the rolls were formed. I rubbed embossing ink on them and dipped them in embossing powder, then heat embossed them.

Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team October 2014 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team October 2014 Blog hop!! If you just came from the very talented Sarah Miller's Blog, then you're on the right track.
With Autumn making it's appearance in parts of the country, I can only live vicariously through pictures. Here in Florida, we have 4 seasons. Summer, summer, summer and ....summer.... I miss Autumn on Long Island where I grew up. The leaves, the colors, the crisp cool mornings...
I am fortunate to have met so many talented friends in this industry. Shannon James is one. Shannon and her mom, are a dynamic duo who own and operate Portraits by S & S, in Henryville, PA.
They are one talented team. I remember seeing Shannon's scrapbook layouts, but specifically the photos she used. Shannon has graciously allowed me to use her photographs for my layouts. This is the first one I am using. It is a photo of her gorgeous daughter Delilah from her woodland fairy photo session. I am very excited to use this gorgeous photo coupled with BoBunny's Autumn Song paper collection, Lindys Stamp Gang sprays and of course Heartfelt Creations stamps. Oh my.... Autumn is here...

Lately I have been using lots of corrugated cardboard with my layouts. This time I wanted  a woodsy feel to compliment the photo. My cardboard technique was perfect.

I love using dimensional layers in my layouts. I place a few pieces of corrugated cardboard inbetween my layers to give them depth.

I used the Tattered Blossoms PreCut set to create my flowers. The matching Tattered Blossoms die is the perfect companion , making the flowers easy to create.

The leaves I created is a retired Heartfelt Creations  stamp that coordinates with the  Spellbinders Foliage die.  I used  some Kraft paper and rolled some spiral roses. Very easy for  fill in flower! This kept with my woody themed layout.

For the colors, I used all Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays... I will be revealing the 2014 Novembers Color challenge on November 1st!! Stay tuned!!!

Sweet Delilah is to gorgeous for words!!! Check out Portraits by S and S in Henryville Pennsylvania.
Thank you Shannon allowing me to showcase your work!!

Dance....Lindys Stamp Gang

Sometimes the designers are inspired by other designers. In this case, I was blown away by Elena Lishchenko's layout in our color challenge this month. I was actually blown away by all of the submissions! The talent out there is unbelievable!! But how easy it is to create beauty with Lindys Stamp Gang products!! I know with every pump of the spray, or every stroke of my brush loaded with color shots or magicals, is purely magic.
The background was created with cardboard, the patterned paper I used for the base of my layout is from the 7 Dots Studio Cold Country Collection, Lonely Evenings This is for the September Color Challenge at 7 Dots Studio , masks, texture paste and the sprays in the  October 2014 Color Challenge Spray Set.

I used Tim Holtz alterations Dragonfly die. I die cut  piece of corrugated cardboard with a piece of white card stock together and adhered them to one another, then just began to spray using the sprays in the October 2014 Limited Edition Spray Set.

The Prima and Kaisercraft Flowers were placed on the finished layout and sprayed with Royal Peacock Fire.

I matted the photo of ballerina Elena Glurdjidze with corrugated cardboard, tattered, wrinkled, ripped  and sprayed with the sprays. The cornice on top is a Tim Holt alterations die as well.

Here is  closeup of the flowers. I tucked some Spanish moss and black thread under the flowers for texture.

The title was die cut using QuicKutz Storybook letters from black card stock, then sprayed with Royal Peacock Fire.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Don't forget to check out the October Color Challenge!! The colors are simply divine!!!

Blue Fern Studios October Blog Post

In some parts of the country, Autumn is in full swing..Here in Florida I can only dream of Autumn...
For my first project I createdan  autumn themed card that is shaped like a tag. It was easy to create the folded shape. I folded a rectangular piece of white 100lb card stock  and ran it through my Sizzix alterations die placing the fold of the card on the  inside of the die blade as not to cut 1 side, leaving the fold intact. Then I die cut 2 pieces of patterned paper Ombre Dreams Paper in Leslies Dream, and adhered it to the front and back of the card. I left the inside plain white for some handwriting.

I used the fabulous  Fall acorns and  Bits Of Honey on my card. I painted the acorns with Lindys Mgicls  then spread some crackle paint over it to enhance the colors. I just sprayed the bits of honey with Lindys Stamp gang Starburst spray after priming them with white gesso.

Here is view of the back of the card when it is open. I strung some seam binding through the front hole in the card,. I spayed the seam binging with Lindys Starburst spray in My Mojito Green to match the die cut leaves on the front of the card.

For my next project I created another mini album in a different style. I used  the Montage Paper Collection using the Wisdom and Fairyland papers..

On the cover I used the smaller piece from the Roman Clock Set Large. The butterfly is from the Royal Monarchs collection. I inked both pieces with Ranger distress ink in Vintage Photo.

I used the Roman Clock Set small on the right hand page, On the left hand page, I used a left over piece from one of the original Blue Fern Studios designs. I save everything! It makes a great frame.

I created a tag with the flower on top and a small key from the Vintage Keys set.
I created  small pocket in some of the pages to slide in small tags and cards. The edges were punched using a Martha Stewart border punch.

This is just a closeup of the cover. The jeweled piece is a Recollection flower piece and I used burlap and some flower buds tucked underneath.

This is the album closed with twine that I adorned with some beads. I punched  holes in the front and back covers with my Cropadile and set some wide eyelets into the holes.

For the binding, I used a Tim Holtz Ruler Binding set. You can add many pages as the screws to put it together are pretty long.

This is the view of the inside of the back cover. I love the pattern on the paper and did not want to cover it up.

My next project is a trifold pocket album. I followed a pattern from a Kathy Orton book on mini albums. I used the  Montage Paper Collection, using the Wisdom and Fairyland papers.Sometimes mixing and matching  chipboard pieces from different collections can match perfectly. That is what I did here. I used  Manor Hinges  and  Damask Flourish to create the design on my cover. I painted them with black gesso.

I added a jeweled brad  to complete the look.

When you open the album, you can see there is plenty of room for pictures and journaling. The waterfall feature can hold many photo's.

This is a view of the back of the trifold. I used black cardstock for the base. I love the black and pink color combination together.

This is the  Damask Flourish  shown on its own.

Here are the little folders and tag cards shown, pulled out of their pockets. Each one opens up to add more photos or journaling.

Thank You for joining me this week. I look forward to creating with more of the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios papers and chip board. Until next time...
xoxo

Summer Cards BoBunny

With Autumn coming quickly, I wanted to keep summer alive and well..Well, who am I  kidding, it is always summer in Florida!!! I created 2 cards using BoBunny's Lemonade Stand paper collection. It is bright, cheery and just feels like summer fun!!

Pinwheels remind me of summer as a child. I wanted to create  a fun card, so I created flowers shaped like pinwheels. I fussy cut the little citrus slices pattern in the  paper and added them to the middles of my pinwheels. Lemonade Stand from BoBunny is just wonderful!!!

I love the chalkboard look of some of the elements. This piece was perfect for the front of my card.
I die cut the little roses and leaves to adorn my card. Mimicking the tiny dot pattern on the chalk board part of the paper, I used the Pearl Pen to create the little dots around the title.

Thanks for joining me today. Try some Lemonade Stand for your Summer Themed projects.Check out the BoBunny Blog for lots of inspiration!!
