Tiny Dancer layout Dusty Attic

Hello Dusty Attic Lovers!! Warm greetings from the sunshine state!! I often think that tutu's and hair-bows were all  little girls required sometimes. But to be adorned with Dusty Attic products to bring out their further beauty, is truly magnificent!! I hope you have checked out the new designs!! I am always head over heels with the frames. I wanted the this frame to take center stage. It is Ornate Frame #7.
To prepare my background I mounted a 12x12 piece of  Prima Marketing paper (Tales of You and Me designed by my gorgeous friend Frank Garcia) to a piece of 12x12 corrugated cardboard. I used 3 other pieces of cardboard and covered them with coordinating paper from the same collection, then mounted them onto the base by stacking them to create dimension. I use small pieces of cardboard underneath to raise them up from the base.
For the last step before applying all of the adornments, is using the DA Texture Paste with the Creative Script Stencil on the background. Now I was ready to decorate!!

The frame is simply gorgeous!!I painted it using Sugar Plum, then gave it a thick coat of the Crackle Varnish. While the varnish was still wet, I added the DA pearls to random spots on the frame. Pearls and girls. They simply go together!!

I love the Dusty In Bloom flowers. The Evening Blush blossoms matched the Sugar Plum paint to perfection. I also added a few from Bridal Veil to break up all of the purple.

For the bit of green, I let the Botanical Accent chip board pieces soak in a little water for a few minutes, then pulled them apart creating light and airy pieces. After they dried, I painted them with Dusty in Colour Pesto.

In this photo, you can see the crackle in the frame. It also gave the frame a beautiful gloss finish.

You can see the dimension the layering created, which is perfect when you want to put a layout in a shadow box frame. And the corrugated cardboard prevents the paper from warping as it gives the paper for the layout stability. It is also less expensive than using 12x12 chipboard or canvas. My money saving tip, so that you save more money to spend on Dusty Attic chipboard!!

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed the process in how I created this layout. Simple, easy and elegant.
